Our Story, A Family Business Since 1984
Joe Curcio Auto Sales, Inc., d/b/a The Dixie Pickers — is a small, family-owned and operated dealership proudly serving customers since 1984. Founded by Joe Curcio after years in the new car industry, the business was born out of frustration with how larger dealerships treated people. Joe set out to build something different — a dealership grounded in honesty, lasting relationships, and high-quality vehicles.
Over time, Joe’s commitment to honesty and quality built a loyal customer base—many of whom became lifelong friends. After Joe’s passing in 2010, his son Matt took the reins, determined to honor his father’s legacy. While the transition wasn’t without its challenges, Matt remained firmly rooted in the core values the business was built on.
In 2015, Matt made a bold move — shifting the company’s focus to medium-duty trucks. He believed this niche was underserved and saw the opportunity to deliver lower-volume, high-quality inventory with unmatched attention to detail. He was right. Since then, The Dixie Pickers has become a leader in custom medium-duty hauler truck sales nationwide.
When you visit The Dixie Pickers, you’ll find a clean, straightforward operation — no flashy buildings, no corporate runaround. Just some of the nicest pre-owned haulers in the country and a team that truly takes pride in what they do. Most of us are family or lifelong friends, and we love working together to help our customers find the perfect truck.
We look forward to the opportunity to earn your trust and your business.
OUR TEAM
Matt Curcio
Matt has been married to Corinne since 2008, and together they have two wonderful children, Emma and Eli. Matt has a deep love for his family and is passionate about his faith and local church. He and Corinne have actively served in various ministries, working with teens, leading mission trips to Tijuana, Mexico, and organizing outreach teams for a local homeless ministry.
From a young age, Matt worked alongside his father any chance he could—learning the business from the ground up. That hands-on experience shaped his work ethic and commitment to quality. Today, as the owner of The Dixie Pickers, Matt continues to uphold the same values his father instilled.
In recognition of his leadership and dedication to small business, Matt was honored with Ocala’s 40 Under 40 award.
His philosophy is simple: if he wouldn’t personally drive a truck, he wouldn’t sell it to you. Every hauler that leaves the lot reflects his dedication to excellence—and his desire to honor God through honest, high-quality work.
